                🦆 Ay up, duck! These 1960s vehicles are Alvis Stalwart, left abandoned in the forest somewhere in Scotland. British soldiers nicknamed them the Stolly.

                These 6x6 high-mobility transports are amphibious; they run on land and float in water. Two vector-thrust jets propel them through rivers and lakes.

                                      Scientists found that natural regeneration delivered substantial carbon and benefits and could be up to 96% cheaper than traditional tree-planting programs.

                                      Forests are Earth's -support systems, and tropical forests are the most biodiverse among all forest types, covering 18% of the land and home to more than half of all land vertebrate .

                                      They are also a giant carbon sink, so when deforestation happens, we not only stop the forest from taking up carbon, but we also flip it and turn it into a carbon source.

Opening up more land to resource extraction - such as big merchantable trees - doesn't really address dead fuels etc.

There are patches of golden brown dormant grass growing in many of the cracks. A forest of cedars and leafless hardwoods grows on either side of the cliff. The view is just appearing, some rolling hills and buildings a few hundred feet below. The late afternoon sky is a pale blue gray. Most of the visible sky is covered with a cluster of hazy thin clouds. The sun, setting behind the haze, is a large roundish blob of golden fire, painting the surrounding haze orange and yellow.

In 2021, the World Resources Institute reported that it had actually incentivized deforestation in Campeche state. Bárcena said the program is being adjusted to better meet environmental objectives.

                                                            "Mexican sustainability and climate action expert Juan Carlos Franco, who works in southern Mexico, said security is crucial and requires the government to act as 'guarantor.' But the work has to be carried out with civil society in the local communities, including in places where locals have found ways to coexist with the illegal activity surrounding them, he said.

A crevassed gray rock below has a few leafy shrubs growing through its cracks. The sun is about to set behind a low ridge running along the far shore, casting a bright yellow glow in the sky above, tinting the hazy swirl of clouds around it gold and orange tones. This is mirrored on the very lightly rippled waters below.

The painting transposes the boulder into a much darker, eerier forest, with pale blue light filtering through the trees. The mossy boulder now seems to have strange eyes.
