The Brontës went to their first adoption event today! And they handled it like champions — sitting up near the front of the playpen watching people, playing with toys, and being active enough to make a mess of the litter. No applications yet but people were interested in them. They’re not going to the cat cafe yet because they’ve cleared out to deal with an outbreak of coccidia, and we’re all discussing setting a 3-month age minimum for kittens there. Hopefully next month, unless they get adopted sooner. 🤞

I heard our national embarassment is pondering a sculpture garden with 250 statues, probably all of him but I thought A no one wants to look at his lying face and 2 I DEFINITELY do not want to spend hours and hours looking at his fat ugly disgusting face so who would I like to...the CAT easiest decision ever I stopped at 50, roughly I lost count

Yeesh, Smokey is already spoiled. We’ve been giving him a good, grain-free food that is less expensive than what we give to the indoor cats. He’s been more and more resistant to eating. The other morning, he sniffed at the bowl, then laid down a couple of feet away from it and simply waited.

Randy took out a scoop of the indoor food. Smokey deigned to eat that. He doesn’t eat as much as I would expect. He must be finding other food elsewhere to supplement what we give him.

He still won’t come anywhere near us. The closest I can get is to see him watching me through the slats of the fence.

He played with Junior this morning. We had fed Junior on the woodbox and when Junior went bouncing off, Smokey bounced off after him. They got into mock battle and roughhousing on the driveway that looked like it might get too serious. Opening the front door was enough to break that off. I’m glad they get along.
