                          Found myself a bench to sit at in the park. No pictures of the bench, but here's the view from where I sat. This landscape is the Weaselhead Flats area in the Elbow River valley, viewed from North Glenmore Park, Calgary. It features a mixture of lush green spruce trees, deciduous trees, and a wetland area. In the far distance, faint outlines of the Rocky Mountains may be visible under a partly cloudy sky.

                              I dared the sun and the heat to check on the tomatoes (I'm going to water them tonight). All but one plant, the "Celebrity", now have fruit growing. They all look pretty good so far. I know that I should be removing the lower branches (apparently from the bottom 12" of the stalk), but it feels too early to be doing that!

                              I took a photo and labelled the varieties.

                              A raised garden bed with two half-casks on each side. Planted with six types of tomatoes and two Bonanza Yellow marigolds to repel pests.                                     Instead of the many usual windows, today is just the one reflection. I offer it to everyone in this country that needs to grow a spine. The holiday and the heat are making me testy.

The reflection from the window is many brown stones across the street and a large lamp post with a banner on it, as well as a white car towards the bottom and the sidewalk. Coming through from inside the store is a light fixture on the right hand side that is made up of more than a dozen little round light orange bubbles with light inside of them. But the main focus of the photo is a glass vertebrae that was hanging in the window. It looks just like the skeleton of your spine only made out of glass

The Enterprise boldly fills up the window, stretching from one side to the other and then some. Other details: the house is painted sage green and has deco trim on the facade. There's a flagpole with some kind of red white and blue flag hanging out front. On the left there's a yellow painted house. And most importantly, fuck David Ellison.

                                                      Crocosmias are getting ready to bloom, and the hummingbirds are already checking out the few open ones. I think the buds are fascinating.

The long buds are placed alternately along the racemes, each one looking like an exotic shiny bead, with red to fuschia sepals, and a tubular corolla starting out yellow and shading to bright red. The overall effect is a bit like a flashy neck choker.
