                A peaceful day at the seaside. 🌊🏖️

                Cats are sunbathing.
                Cats are building sandcastles.
                Cats are sailing little boats.
                Cats are drinking suspicious beverages in enormous hats.

                And Hercules has discovered the local MICE-CREAM van. 🍦🐱

                Flavours include Choc-Mouse, Strawberry Squeak, Minty Mouse and Cookie Crumble.

                The sign proudly announces:

                “100% MICE! NO NUTS!”

                A wonderfully bonkers vintage-style seaside holiday scene populated entirely by cats, with the sort of cheerful commercial logic that suggests nobody has asked where the mice went. In the centre stands Hercules, a wide-eyed tabby cat in orange swimming shorts, proudly holding a towering waffle cone containing two tiny pink mice-shaped scoops. Behind him is a brightly painted ice-cream van emblazoned “MICE-CREAM”, complete with a gigantic mouse wearing an ice-cream cone as a hat. The menu offers such delicacies as Choc-Mouse, Strawberry Squeak, Minty Mouse and Cookie Crumble, with the reassuring declaration “100% MICE! NO NUTS!” One suspects the local health inspector has wisely chosen another beach. The van is staffed by a cat vendor while a queue of feline customers eagerly await their desserts.                       Well. Hmmm. I’m not sure what I think, or if I should do more. The foam did some cool stuff, and the ink and hot glue did some interesting things… also I seem to have painted eyes accidentally. It’s a cacophony of weird. Does it need more? Maybe it needs more.

                        I should use this deep, cool green more often. It's very relaxing. The medium is watercolour, and final tweaks with coloured pencils.

                                                                                  The CIRA - the Canadian Internet Registry Authority, which manages .CA domains has offered up free Canadian stock images.

                                                                                  Their Canadian Stock Photo library is full of original, maple syrup-infused photography that is free to use and share! All they ask is that you credit CIRA/.CA domains whenever you use their photos and you are free to build as many websites, memes, and annual reports as you like. It also includes Indigeneous themed photos.

                                                                                      In this post I have included three more printable images of "A Dozen Pages" for our zine project. These pages first appeared in A Kick in the Eye, which was a collaborative book I made thirteen years ago with eleven other artists. These pages share a thematic cycle with Intrepid Spirits/The Book of Clea and Enoch and My Favorite Martian Comics. When we get around to posting the twenty-four pages from My Favorite Martian Comics, you will be able to combine all the images into a fairly cohesive book with a robust count of sixty pages.
