        Nice little rock imagery panel!

        A color portrait photo of a rock imagery panel. The images are carved into a vertical beige colored sandstone rock face that has a very dark desert varnish patina, so the images are light colored and the background is dark. They are a group of overlapping anthropomorphs, each with strange heads or headdresses that have elements that look like horns, feathers, and earrings. (Note: I only describe the images in terms that my modern eye sees them for the benefit of those with limited or no vision. Generally, it is not recommended in Visit With Respect guidelines, established by local Natives, to imbue any meaning upon ancient rock images as we are not of the culture that made them.)

                      I wanted to share this image after reading a pleasant article about creating natural gardens with native plants instead of imported species - made me think of how important that choice is to little critters like this guy.

                                      Spotted near the cruise port in Rotterdam in 2022, this is by Polish street artist Gregor Wosik who is renowned for his large-scale, 3D street art images.

                                      It's a bright but overcast day. We're in a city, standing on a pedestrianised area of long brick tile flooring with a cycle lane on the right of us that meets the junction of a busy road where it merges with other bike lanes running across. Pedestrian crossings head over the road ahead and across a road just out of sight on the other side of the bike lane to our right. Our main focus is on the ground, though, where there's a large piece of street art that is designed to be seen from this specific angle to present a three-dimensional view. It looks like the pedestrianised area here is split between walkways left and right over a gaping chasm. The walkway on the left forms a massive arched bridge over a deeply distant view of islands and water fed from a waterfall that cascading out of the apparent sheer rock face ahead of us. The walkway on the right has some jagged areas jutting out over the drop into this fantastical valley below us and there are a couple of flags painted on the edges of these overhangs: one Dutch, one Polish.

                                                                    Aegidienkirche, #Hannover: A #Memorial in Stone.
                                                                    (Pflasterkunst, #FotoForschlag)

                                                                    Originally a 14th-century Gothic #church, it was destroyed during WWII in 1943. Today, the #ruins stand as a powerful reminder of the horrors of war. Its tower houses the Peace Bell, donated in 1985 by Hanover’s partner city, Hiroshima.

                                                                    Today's #PhotoSuggestion is all about Pflasterkunst, which translates in "pavement art" or "street painting" I think. In German, 'Pflaster' means cobblestones as well. So I dug out this old picture once again, but in another edit. To me, it just fits perfectly today.

Zwei Katzen laufen hintereinander von rechts nach links eine Mauer aus Felssteinen entlang. Die vordere Katze ist schwarz, rot und weiß, die hintere Schwarzweiß. Hinter der Mauer eine Uferbestigung aus Felsen, dahinter ein stilles, ruhiges Mittelmeer. Am Horizont Sonnenuntergang.

                                                                                            I have been doing all my with a camera since 2023 and I've always used @darktable@photog.social for RAW development.

                                                                                            One thing which irked me was that the Fujifilm JPEGs look so nice and I was unable to get close to that with my skills.

                                                                                            So I spent a couple weeks last year making styles for almost every "Film Simulation". Go check them out below and let me know what you think. They work for all RAWs, by the way, not just Fujifilm 😏 .

Die Früchte sind komplett von einem sich vergrößernden, laternenförmigen Blütenkelch umschlossen. Heute hat mein dreijähriger Strauch aufgrund der Hitze alle Früchte abgeworfen.

                                                                                                Fouquieria splendens (ocotillo) are so interesting! Most of the year you'd swear they are nothing but an old dead thorny plant but when it rains, look out, they pop to life!
