Ahnold, guardian of Columbus, Ohio.

A bronze statue of Arnold Schwarzenegger, from his bodybuilding glory days, stands in a public plaza at night against a backdrop of trees, chairs, and tables and a warm-toned building facade with horizontally ribbed metal siding.                                                             Today was a special day. As you can see, there's concrete in these photos. This is "The Jungle" as they say, full of apes, not squirrels, and this Jungle in particular, is downtown Statesville, NC.

                                                            Why Statesville, plaid-clad camera-person?
                                                            Because Statesville is the new location of my cousin's tattoo parlor, that just opened, and I got to photograph it!

                                                            It's called "The Parlor", go on, go there, he's awesome.

                                                            While those photos aren't public, Statesville very much is, so here's some photos I took yesterday of downtown.

                                                            As usual, my goal isn't as much to document where I am like I'm trying to prove it exists to a speculative audience, I just took a few shots while I was there.

                                                              There’s an historic home downtown from the 1800’s that had a ginormous old cottonwood tree growing in front of it. Unfortunately, the tree got badly damaged in a storm a few years ago and had to be cut down. But they left the huge stump in place and recently turned it into a free library with a full-sized door, plus the same style cupola and slate roof tiles as the house. It’s pretty cool. 📚🌳
