Asked how a man may find suitable candidates for Freemasonry if it should not be advertised, Harold Voorhis of the Mystic Brotherhood Lodge in New Jersey wrote:

"By conducting ourselves in such a manner as to make other men, especially young men, want to join us in our work. We must take the teachings of the Craft into our daily lives and set an example for the uninitiated "

Just finished "Jerusalem" by Alan Moore. He's enough of a magician to make me think there's something to be said for the idea of time being solid, as it were.

Also, what Hell is and what eternity is. He'd hate this reference, I am sure, but I can't help thinking of C.S. Lewis's "The Great Divorce". Hell is in some way what we make it. Also, living one's life in such a way that you won't have moments you'd be ashamed to be stuck in for eternity seems a good way to go.

This is rambling and incoherent but I can only plead "guilty, your Honor, and may I have another cup of coffee".

            Have a good day, all.

                  3/3

The necessaries of life occasion the great expence of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expence of the rich; and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. A tax upon house-rents, therefore, would in general fall heaviest upon the rich; and in this fort of inequality there would not, perhaps, be any thing very unreasonable. It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the publick expence, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.
