One of my sunflowers is wearing a party hat 🌻🥳

        to the image I sprained my ankle for.

        I wanted to capture the sunset from the peak - I had a suspicion that the sky would light up for and match the flowers. On my descent I stepped funny, bending my ankle and reinjuring my recently sprained ankle again! I then hiked 8km solo in the dark down to camp, I didn't make it back till midnight. Hiking out the final 9km of trail the following morning was very hard!

                                    The descent down the mountain in last week's hike began with this picturesque trail down a ridge overlooking a valley (left pic). I could see for miles, viewing distant mountain ranges, making for a very pleasurable hike. A 3D rendering of the entire hike is shown on the right where the top of the ravine (1) and this descending trail (2) are indicated.

                                                            While I was back in New Jersey, my mom and I drove ten minutes north to Milford, PA to visit Grey Towers, a really cool mansion that I love visiting. The guy who owned this mansion was really involved in conservation and had a whole forestry school and stuff, There was lots of great artwork in there.

                                                                  I love dragonfly season. Spotted this blue-eyed darner (Rhionaeschna multicolor) a few weeks ago at a small lake.

                                                                    Shades of orange and green sunset, Scoville Reservoir, Wolcott, Connecticut. June 9, 2021, 8:11 PM.

                                                                    Beneath a pale blue gray sky with a few long, hazy clouds we are standing on the shore of a lake covered with hundreds of green lily pads. The far shore is densely wooded, as are a small island in the middle of the lake and the tip of a peninsula not far off our shore. A small thicket of water grasses and leafy aquatic plants is just offshore at our feet. The recently set sun is painting the sky near and along the horizon vivid orange and casting a bright golden sunlight off the bottoms of many of the clouds.
