      Three drooping roses, once beautiful, now old and bent like three Shakespearean witches hovering over a cauldron, chanting "Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and caldron bubble." Their pedals look moldy, with pink turned to green. And the leaves are faded, withered, like bay leaves for the stewpot. I am a terrible plant guardian.

                                                              The rock garden I started in April looks is looking pretty nice. It’s doing much of what I had hoped it would, with summer wildflowers growing in and around the pieces of wood, red sandstone, and ornamental grasses that I scattered about. I’ve been “borrowing” seeds from a wildflower field down the street that’s been blooming all summer long, and scattering those seeds all over the rocks for even more flowers next year (hopefully). 🌼🌾

                                                                    One of the water hyacinths in my backyard pond bloomed today. Couldn't help but get close to admire the beautiful flower and take some pics. The resident solitary frog was not happy with my presence.

                                                                                Enjoying a peaceful moment to themselves. Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a spot of tea now and again. Little monsters have been know to slip quietly into kitchens when no one is around and sneak a sip of two of freshly brewed sweetness. This sleepy creature drank a bit too much sweet jasmine tea and found it hard to stay awake. Shhhhhh...

                                                                                      The gladiolus are so cheerful! The hummingbirds love them, too. And I like that they grow from bulbs, so I plant them once and they come back every year.
