      This little was out and about near the Gaywood river in Kettlewell Lane Park this afternoon.

      A curious little butterfly of a type I have not seen before. The centre is dark brown, while the rear wings have a fiery orange back rim, and the front wings have an orange and black pattern framed by a thick dark brown border. The dryness of the vegetation is a reflection of the almost total absence of rainfall in recent months.

                    Well, this was a first. Today, I went fly fishing for the first time ever! I had a lesson from a family member (left) who has lived here and fly fished his entire life. I also spent a lot of time watching the “master” at work. No outdoor adventure is complete without a dog (owned by the family member) who has accompanied him on fishing adventures since being a pup. A fun day!

                                                                                        Painterly, digital art of a dragon moray eel coming out of its rocky little hidey-hole in order to shame humanity. We totally deserve it. Anyway, the eel is extremely orange with crisscrossing red and greenish-orange stripes marking its whole body, bold white splotches on top. It has weird little noodly bits on its eyebrows and nostrils, and its mouth is open in outrage. Maybe it's actually angry at the big purple sea urchin encroaching on its marbled rock home. The rest of the eel's tail threads through the hole on the side of the isometric 'chunk' of rock. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

                                                                                            1/2 Landed safely in Denver last night. Went on a nice walk along this creek in Golden this morning. As I climbed down the rocks along the bank to take this pic, I was greeted by one of the “locals”….. (CONT)

                                                                                                Yes, we know we may be disturbing people who are enjoying their weekend, and we sincerely apologize if our repeated messages are becoming too much.
